Bursary & Scholarship Information

Thank you for your interest in applying for a place at Merchant Taylors’ School. Each year we offer financial assistance in the form of bursary support to families who meet the criteria for support as listed in the Year 7 Bursaries & Scholarships – Information Guide listed below. For those of you who would like to make an application please access the online application by clicking on the Secure Apply logo below. The deadline for receipt of completed applications is Monday 24th October 2024. Applications received after the deadline cannot be considered. In order to complete your application you will need to enter the school code MTS108P.

The bursary application process is a means tested process administered on our behalf by Bursary Assessment Associates, an independent company. Once you have submitted your application through the Secure Apply link below, a member of their team will be in touch with you to arrange a convenient date for your home visit.

It will take 30-45 minutes to complete the application form but we advise you to leave plenty of time before the deadline to complete your application as you must ensure you have all the required supporting documents to hand so that they can be uploaded as part of the process. The supporting documents are listed below:

Supporting documents required to be sent with every application:
1) Last 3 months statements for all bank, building society and savings accounts
2) Last 3 months payslips (if you work)
3) Last P60 (if you work)
4) Proof of all benefits and other support received (if you are in receipt of benefits or other support)
5) Most recent mortgage statement(s) or rental agreement

Supporting documents to be sent depending on your situation (please read carefully to see which apply to you):
1) P45 (if you have stopped working or changed jobs)
2) Details of additional income such as rent or investments
3) Copy of inland revenue tax calculations if you or your accountant complete a tax return
4) Confirmation of schedule D self-employment income from your accountant
5) Annual report and accounts if you own your own business
6) Trust fund statements if anyone in the family has a trust fund
7) Pension documentation if anyone in the family is in receipt of pension income
8) Last 3 months statements for credit cards, finance leases, loans if you have them
9) Details of lump sums received if relevant
10) Any other documents which you feel are important to support your application
