Reception Celebrate Chinese New Year
Pupils in Reception had a wonderful time last week as they learned all about Chinese New Year.
The children enjoyed enhancing their knowledge about China and participating in lots of different themed activities. Pupils worked together to recreate the Great Wall in the construction area, made dragon masks and explored writing their name with Chinese symbols. The Chinese New Year has a number of different animals that represent the year and pupils were fascinated to learn all about these and why this year is the ‘Year of the Rabbit’.
Reception’s special celebration also saw the children trying out some ribbon dancing and enjoying a Chinese themed lunch and a fortune cookie.
