Year 2 Trip to World of Glass
During their trip to The World of Glass last week, Year Two watched a glassblowing demonstration and at the end of the day, they were allowed to pick a hand-blown glass bowl to bring back to school.
Year Two decided to hold a raffle with the glass bowl as the winning prize with all money collected to be donated to charity. The charity that we decided to support was our partner school is Sierra Leone, Hope Preparatory.
It was with great excitement this morning that Year Two watch Miss Yardley draw the winning ticket.
We are thrilled that we have managed to collect and donate £118 to help our partner school. This amount of money is enough to buy eleven school uniforms! Children in Sierra Leone are not allowed to go to school unless they wear a uniform. Many families do not have sufficient resources, so this money will help eleven more children towards an education.
